Growing up in the Church Part 2

Growing up in the Church Part 2

Growing Up In The Church Part Two

Welcome to the second part, where we continue unraveling the life, struggles, challenges, expectations and beauty that come with growing up in the church. In this second part, we begin on a high note, talking about the things Christie, Amanda, and Laura had to unlearn. Among them includes learning that everyone’s spiritual journey is different, though it may have many similarities. It is okay to serve God uniquely and differently. After all, we are all created unique. Learn about how Christie and Laura fell out of faith and what brought them back in alignment. We also conclude with a sister talk as the trio opens up to each other in a way they have never done. You don’t want to miss this!

The guests, Christie Hatten, Amanda Furdge, and Laura Furdge, are siblings and pastor’s kids who grew up in the church. The trio has gone through many experiences as pastor’s kids, challenges while growing up in the church, and misconceptions & expectations people have. The lessons learned, their afterlife as adults and parents, and how they are transforming the next generation.

Notable Quotes

  • Everyone’s spiritual journey will be different, though there may be many similarities. It’s totally fine to be different because God created us with uniqueness.

  • God does not want your ministry and church programs to destroy your relationship with Him.
  • It’s okay to share your struggles and let people know how they should handle your vulnerabilities.
  • If you don’t get spiritual help, you can find yourself physically present in church but mentally absent.
